I was pleasantly surprised by how plump and intact these azuki beans were after a long soak—they held their shape perfectly for ohagi. The deep, earthy aroma filled the kitchen as they simmered, making the whole process feel like a special ritual.

The beans are a beautiful deep red, uniform in size, and after simmering they held their shape perfectly while turning incredibly tender. Just sweet enough on their own, I used them in a batch of anko and the texture was absolutely spot-on for daifuku.

This bag is a generous 300 grams, so it’s enough for a few big batches of anko. The beans are plump and have a really nice, natural sweetness that comes through even before you add any sugar.
